My 28 year old son hunts for wild boar with nothing but dogs and duct tape. He has been doing this since he was about 16. Talk about Extreme Redneck!

I decided to interview him for Associated Content and it got published. That's my 7th thing that has gotten published so far. I could probably make a lot of money with articles if I could come up with ideas. That's kind of hard to do when you stay at home on the computer all day, but I'm trying. Also, my cloud level is a 4 already with only 7 articles. There are tons of people on AC that have written a lot more articles and don't have as high of a level. Some of them have written to me to ask how I did it and honestly, I have no idea!

Here is the article if you are interested:

www.associatedcontent.com/article/576469/an_interview_with_boar_hunter_jr_arizpe.html

The goats finally popped!

Hey y'all! Both goats had their little ones. Callie, the gray goat, had a cute little boy all by herself. I was busy feeding and got to see the entire thing. Allie, the brown goat, didn't have it so easy. She kept pushing and pushing and I could only see a nose and a foot. I had to get the second foot unstuck and then her little girl was born just fine. Allie is still not doing well though. Poor thing has a really hard time walking and lays around most of the time. I have to pull her up by the horns to make her eat, drink and feed her baby. I hope she makes it because I really love her. Her little girl is just as spunky as she was before she had her.

Did I mention that it was the neighbor's goat that got my goats pregnant? Well, I ended up going to the vet to get some shots for Allie, the brown goat. The bill was $108.00 which I could NOT afford. I swear, if you see me on America's most wanted, you will know why.

The babies are all about their Mom right now so, they haven't tried to play together. They pretty much ignore each other at this point. I can't wait to see them play together. Already they jump around and try and get their Mom to play with them. They both let me hold them. The little boy even licks me on the face like a puppy would.

Here are some pictures:

This is Callie and her baby boy.

This is the little boy all by himself.

This is the baby girl laying beside Mommy.
This is the little girl playing all by herself.

Waiting on the goats to pop!

We have two female goats. The neighbors goat got in our pasture and got them pregnant. Yep, I know, I've previously written about the pig that got pregnant from the neighbors pig but, he doesn't feed his animals properly so, no fence invented by man will hold his animals out of my pasture. I go outside and to the back of our little five acres three to four times a day to see if my little white goat has given birth yet. My girlfriend who raises goats told me over a week ago that she was going to pop any second. Today, I have checked twice already and ...........no baby. I haven't blogged for a while. The kids were home on Christmas break and the hubby was home on vacation until yesterday.

Did I tell you that our pig had babies? Anyway, I spent 3 days training the 6 baby pigs to go from the pasture to the chicken coop in order to eat. The reason for this was because the pasture is very wooded and it's about an acre so, catching them would have been impossible. There are no chickens in the coop right now so, I figured that would be the best place to catch them. If you want to see a video of the piglets go to Extreme Redneck and click on "Who's your Daddy?". You will understand the title once you watch the video. Anyway, I finally got the piglets trained and the boys and hubby caught them in the coop on their first day off so that we could take them to the small animal auction. I was in charge of videoing the entire hilarious event for the Extreme Redneck site. Although I don't consider chasing baby piglets to be Extreme Redneck, the boys really wanted to be on the site somehow so, before they really hurt themselves doing really stupid crap trying to rate, I told them I would put the video of them catching the babies on the site. LOL It will be up there sometime this week and I'll blog about it. Anyway, we only got 1 stinking dollar apiece for the piglets because there was hardly anyone at the auction. I guess it was too close to Christmas for anyone to attend.

We went to the neighborhood Christmas party and had a wonderful time there. As usual, when you live in a redneck community, there was a ruckus. Someone hit someone else's truck and there was a big commotion until the Mom of the boy who hit the truck stood between the guy holding the gun (the owner of the truck that was hit) and her son explaining that payment would be made for the damage.

My oldest son and his girlfriend showed up the weekend before Christmas with her kids and announced that they are expecting a little one! Yep, I'm going to be a Grandma again! I'm so excited about it. I kept rubbing the belly and talking to the baby while crying with joy. I can't wait to start buying stuff for the new baby. They don't want to know what it is until it "pops out" as my son puts it so, I can't buy gender specific stuff until it's born. I don't mind waiting. I love surprises! They stayed with us for the entire weekend. He has brought his girlfriend lots of times but, I have only meet her 4 year old once and have never meet her 7 year old before. By the end of the weekend her kids were calling us Grandma and Grandpa. OK, Lola and Lolo. That's what my daughters son calls us so, we figured all of the grand kids should be calling us the same thing. The Lola and Lolo thing came from my husband. That's what he called his Grandparents and my daughter thought it would be really cool if her son followed the tradition.

Our Christmas eve was excellent. We tracked Santa on Norad until we went to a friends house for a small gathering and didn't get home until midnight. We checked Norad again and discovered that Santa was almost in Florida. It was a really big rush to get everything prepared for Santa and his reindeer arrival! I had been making homemade tamales for 2 days so, we set out some of those for Santa, a beer to wet his whistle, some celery for the reindeer, a chair pulled right up to the TV for some relaxing and the remote on the arm of the chair. We only set out one beer because we wouldn't want Santa drunk driving now would we? We opened up the fireplace and at last, after big kisses and big hugs, ran to our beds. We think we heard a little chuckle in the middle of the night but we were afraid to go and check because we didn't want to scare Santa.

Our Christmas day was great. My brother and his girlfriend showed up and we all opened presents together and then sat down for some homemade tamales. The boys got camouflage backpacks from Santa and toys and money from us too. Of course there were presents from my husbands San Diego family and my brother and his girlfriend brought a gift and money too. When the boys at last pulled down their stockings, they found an extra surprise in the bottom. They both had a statue of the baby in the manger scene! They asked why that was in there and I told them "I guess Santa put it there to remind you that Christmas is really about Jesus."

We didn't get to celebrate Christmas with my daughter until the 30th because she had been sick. She lives closer to my brother so, we decided to all meet up there to celebrate Christmas one last time with her family. We had such a great time with our Grandson. He is so smart. Anyway, after my daughter's family left, my brother was trying to teach my sons how to joust. They were using broomsticks and doing a choreographed routine. It was really cool to watch them. After they had the routine down pat, my brother was showing us how some of the more advanced jousters twirled the stick around. Since I used to twirl baton (y'all please notice how I said "USED TO"), I decided to take the broomstick from him and show off my skills. Long story short, my pinkie finger is now broken and it hurts to type so, I'll end this story for today. Feel free to comment and tell me about your Christmas.

Twas The Night Before Christmas Redneck Style

I got my first poem published on Associated Content. LOL

My husband and I have decided that we want to adopt a little girl. The boys are so excited about it! They are both very good with my grandson who is 2 and enjoy spending time with him. My son's girlfriend has a 5 year old and you should have seen them with him. They are both so patient with kids!

We recently went to visit their sister and her parents foster babies. They were fostering a little girl for the second time. The first time they got her she was only 21 hours old and born cocaine addicted like my sons. I got to hold her when she was only 3 weeks old and just couldn't put her down! She is so adorable! This second time they were fostering her, she was 8 months old and I fell in love with her all over again. I have lots of pictures of her and pray for her every day. I'm sad to say, this little girl has again went back to her crack head Mom. I don't know about other states but, here in Florida, there is a 3 strikes rule and the Mom has to mess up three times before the child is taken away permenantly.

My husband and I have decided to get our homestudy and other paperwork updated just in case the little girl goes back into foster care again. This won't guarantee that we will get HER but, it won't hurt either. It's going to be a long road to get everything done but, we both feel it will be worth it in the long run because even if we don't get this little girl, we can get another one. We just feel that we can help one more child.

Hey, if someone out there is willing to build us a bigger house, we will adopt even more!

I have my very own website!

I just started my very own website at http://www.extremeredneck.com . I'm not an html programmer so, it is going to take me a VERY long time to get it to look as pretty as some of the other sites out there. I can't believe I scored that domain name!

We live in a very rural community. All of the roads are dirt and I love them that way. We live in a trailer on 5 acres and have lots of Redneck friends. I'm hoping that I will be able to make something of my new site with their help.

On Thanksgiving day, my son (the 27 year old) released his dogs in the pasture and one of his dogs got ahold of my hog. It was so funny! (Ok, it wasn't funny until I discovered that the hog and the dog were ok and not injured.) My son had to get in the middle of it, take down the hog, and pull the dog off of her. It's a pretty big hog and he just tackled her and flipped her on her side. I can't believe I didn't get it on video! It would have been perfect for my new site!

Our Thanksgiving

Well, it's finally over. I cooked for 2 1/2 days and loved every minute of it! Since cooking is one of my favorite things in the world you have to know that Thanksgiving has to be my favorite holiday. It's all about food and sharing.

Our guest were my brother and his girlfriend, my son and his girlfriend, my daughter and her son and my friend who lives across the street.

The menu was, rosemary roasted turkey, honey and orange glazed ham, cornbread stuffing, roasted garlic mashed potatoes with turkey gravy, green beans, corn, deviled eggs, fish dip, pumpkin pie and apple pie. There is more but, I can't think of it right now. LOL

My daughter brought an apricot brandy cake that was to die for. I think my boys got drunk on it. LOL My neighbor prepared the green bean and the corn for me. She even brought over her own slivered almonds for the green beans and sweet pepper for the corn! She doesn't have much money so, that's why I just wanted her to help instead of bringing something but, there ya go, she brought something anyway. My brother brought chips and cokes and my son and his girlfriend brought cheesecake.

Needless to say, we all ate till we thought we would pop!

My Recipe For Roast Beef with a Spanish Flair that got posted on AC

I can't believe it. They mostly learn about things they are going to need to survive on their own like writing checks, balancing a bank statement, buying groceries, etc. He recently had a project at school to bring in food that he had made. He really wanted to bring Chicken and Dumplings (pronounced Chicken n Dumplins where I'm from) because it was his favorite meal that I cook for him. I decided that, since I had never used a recipe to make it, not only would I help him make some but, I would also help him with a recipe for it. I don't usually write down recipes so, I figured, why not share it with my new friends on my blog? I make my Baking Mix from scratch because I don't like to use preservatives in my cooking but, I'm sure it will be just as good with store bought Baking Mix. Follow this link for the recipe:

www.associatedcontent.com/article/442479/southern_mississippi_chicken_and_dumplings.html

October Highlights

Well, October was a great month. Both boys are doing well in school this year. I'm so proud of them and how hard they try every day. We are teaching the oldest to drive. Don't worry, the streets are still safe. We live in the middle of nowhere in a small community with all dirt roads. Our neighborhood dump is two roads away and we are letting him drive us to the dump. He is doing pretty good so far. We used to only go to the dump once a week and now he insist on going twice a week. Wonder why? LOL I'm not sure how old he will be, if ever, before he will get a real license. He seems to be happy with just being able to drive us around for now.

We are building a deck beside our trailer and the boys are helping. We can't attach it to the trailer because it isn't allowed where we live. The oldest is taking construction in school so, we thought it would be a good way for him to get more hands on experience. Both boys seem to be better at retaining things they learn to do with their hands. My husband and I feel we should train them to do as many things as possible and hope that they gain an interest in something that they feel they do well in. We know they aren't going to grow up to be rocket scientist and will probably go to a trade school instead of a college so, we are just trying to help them with some of their decisions. Ha, as it stands right now, they both say they are never leaving home! I know that will probably change sometime in the future but, I'm happy with their decision for now because I still feel like I just got them.

Did I tell y'all I'm married to the most wonderful man in the world? Well, I am. He supports me in everything I do and loves me for who I am. I don't know how I ever lived life without him.

I have been spending every Tuesday with my daughter who lives in town. It's quite a drive and I hate leaving the sanctuary of my little safe neighborhood but, it has been well worth it. I get to visit with her and my grandson. My grandson is the sweetest little two year old. My daughter even let me make her Halloween costume which was quite a compliment. She went as the girl from the movie 300. I was quite proud of how the costume turned out as I had no pattern.

For Halloween the oldest was Frankenstein and the youngest was a black eyed pea. The black eyed pea costume was really easy, I just painted a "P" on a shirt and then put black makeup around his eye to resemble a black eye. I wish I could show a picture of them here but, I still don't feel safe enough to have their names or their pictures on the net. I hope everyone understands that.

I did pretty good on CashCrate for it being my first month. I didn't even work on there very much and I made over $60.00. I can't have anymore children and really wanted to have children with him. We decided to adopt a child that we could raise and love together. After months of discussion, we decided that our hearts were big enough to be able to love more than one adopted child. I immediately started researching sibling groups that we could adopt. We weren't being picky about race but we were being picky about disabilities because we live so far away from the nearest hospital and the nearest doctor. As a matter of fact, it's 23 miles to the nearest grocery store. I was searching for a sibling group of 5 or less.

It took a long time and a lot of heartache because of being turned down for children we selected. We finally got a call from a caseworker who told us about the 11 year old and asked if we wanted to meet him. We immediately said yes and couldn't wait to hear back from her. She then started telling us more about him. He was born cocaine addicted and had 4 other siblings, two sisters and two brothers. All 4 of them were also born cocaine addicted. The 5 children had been adopted by a family one by one as they were born to the same mother and different fathers. How could this mother be allowed to continue having children? Anyway, their adoptive family abused all 5 children and the children were subsequently taken away from them. Their adoptive family signed a "Termination of parental rights" and then they became foster children.

The two girls were adopted right away. This caused the boys to become depressed and aggressive toward their caregivers. DCF took away the most violent one and put him in a different home and then sent the two remaining boys to a group home where they were separated into different cottages. This caused them to become even more aggressive and depressed. The oldest of the two (my son) ran away. After he was found he was bounced around from home to home and put on more and more drugs to calm him down. Nine homes and nine different schools later he landed in a therapeutic foster home. The youngest boy (my son) was not as violent and therefore was in 5 homes total. They were both in foster care and separated from each other for over 2 years.

Visitations with the boys were unbearable! They lived in two different cities and because of our desire to get the boys reunited, we would travel to both cities to get them. Round trip to pick them up and drop them off was about 150 miles. We would bring them to our house, even if it was only for a couple of hours, and then take the journey back to drop them off. We fell in love with them right away so, dropping them off was always a tearjerker. When we finally got to the weekend visits it was always a VERY happy and then a VERY sad time for all 4 of us. The boys would cry so hard when we had to take them home. In May they finally got to move in for their 90 day trial before adoption was final.

The boys were 11 and 15 when we adopted them. The oldest was on three types of medication for anger issues and depression. He was on Seroquel, Abilify and Lexapro. The youngest was not on any meds and still isn't. The oldest was a real challenge as he is developmentally delayed and mildly mentally retarded. Every time something didn't go his way, like leaving his books required to do his homework at school, he would pitch a major fit! He would start destroying everything in his path and we would have to restrain him to keep him from injuring himself. The hardest time was when he was breaking a glass chess board with his hands. I was always walking on egg shells when my husband wasn't home because I wasn't sure if I would be able to restrain him by myself. There was one time where he cornered me in the laundry room and shoved me into the freezer. I hit the handle on the door and had quite a bruise on my bottom for a while.

My goal for the oldest (now that he is MINE and isn't a foster child anymore) was to get him off of as many of the medications as possible so that I could meet my son. Now that they were ours, my husband could add the boys to his insurance and I could find better doctors for them. On our first appointment with the Psychiatrist, I was told I was crazy for wanting to get him off any of his meds. I told the doctor that not only did I not like all of the side effects of the meds but, I also wanted to get him off of as much as I could (SLOWLY) and then decide on my own if he needed more or less. The Psychiatrist said that cocaine babies are very hard to raise and that the fact that he was delayed would make it harder to reason with him. He said he hoped I knew what I was getting into. Well, I didn't but, I loved him and I wanted to help him.

We began reducing the Abilify first. He became more violent but, as long as he was still healthy and not hurting himself, we kept it up. After we had it down to the lowest dose, we started reducing his Seroquel. More violence for at least two days after every reduction. We kept going down anyway. I was determined at this point to do whatever it took. I even had to go to the school and explain what I was doing because he was getting into trouble there too. We finally got him off of both meds and started on the Lexapro. That was the easy one. Every single day, he became more aware of his surroundings, less violent and more willing to hug and be hugged. Life was great!! I even went with him on a field trip at school. The bus traveled on the same road that we used to travel to take him home. He was so excited about the airport and the planes flying so low overhead. I pointed out that he had seen them before and he said he didn't remember ever seeing them. His grades and behavior started improving at school. He is now off ALL of his meds and has been for 6 months. He has lost 40 pounds and is more confident at home and at school. He has went from a first grade reading level to a third grade reading level. He is 16 years old now and going for a special diploma in high school. He loves school!! All of our friends and relatives can't believe the differences in him.

The youngest was also on a first grade reading level. I'm sure that if I had him tested, he would be diagnosed ADD but, again with the meds, I refuse. I have tutored both boys for two summers now and have managed to get them both up to third grade level. The youngest is 12 years old and in the 5th grade as an ESE student. He is continually asking how much longer he has to be ESE. I tell him that only time will answer that question. If he were lazy and didn't try, I would tell him that if he worked harder he would be in regular classes but, I know better than to lie to him. He knows he was born cocaine addicted and asked about it. I explained that being cocaine addicted was like having a cloud in his head that made it harder for him to see things the way that other people do. He understood right away and pointed out that his older brother must have a much bigger cloud. I was so happy that he got it.

I don't feed my children any preservatives and I try to keep the fat and sugar content low in all of my cooking. I make practically EVERYTHING from scratch. This would include, bread, butter, sour cream, broth and much more. I grow a lot of my own food too.

We took out a HUGE loan on our house (well, it's a trailer) and property when we got the boys. We wanted to make sure that the boys would be happy here in the woods. They had lived in the city all their lives and now their whole world was about to change. We wanted to make their dreams come true. The loan was to clear some of the land and dig a pond. My husband was afraid they would get lost in the woods (we have 5 acres) or get bitten by something. We wanted the pond because we taught the boys to fish and they decided it was better than sliced bread. I wanted to be able to be in the kitchen cooking or whatever and be able to see them. We also got them a go kart so that they could go to visit friends in the neighborhood. My oldest son (the one that is grown and gone) brought them pony that is blind in one eye so, we built a pasture for her and even got her some friends to play with. Now we have the pony, two goats and a pig in the pasture. The pig was also brought by my son. He found it in the woods when it was a baby. We already had two dogs and a parrot when we got he boys but, they wanted a cat so, we adopted two for them. We have tried having chickens but, they keep getting ate so, we gave up for now. We bought used Kayaks for all of us and do a lot of fishing as a family.

I quit my job as a computer programer to be home for the boys and I'm looking for ways to make money at home. I've sold just about everything that I feel I can do without on eBay and now I'm ready to move on to something else. If I find any good ways to make money for free I will post them here. I can't afford to spend money to make money right now. I'm researching ways to make money with no out of pocket expense. I could go back to work but, the boys are very adimate about not going to before and after school care. I know for sure that I can't leave them home alone at this point.
